Artist Statement:

 

This is a large oil painting I created for a personal project. My goal was to explore ancient legends and put a new twist on them. Originally, Pandora opened the box setting free all kinds of pestilence upon the earth. Maybe Pandora was the tale of a dark twin, whereas the other twin, upon opening the box, would release peace and beauty.
